Short-distance wireless communication technologies generally support to connect different cordless products in 100 meters, offering more convenient application for people’s daily communications. Today, LINKVIL will introduce you more about short-distance wireless communication.
1. Zig-Bee
Zig-Bee is one of the short-distance wireless communication technologies applied in home & building control, industrial auto-control, agricultural information collection & control, public places information detection & control, etc.
· Zig-Bee supports the short-distance connection between 10 ~ 100 meters
· Zig-Bee devices can work for 6 ~ 24 months with low power consumption in standby mode
· With a free protocol charge and cheap chip, Zig-Bee is a cost-effective choice for short-distance wireless communication
· Zig-Bee usually works at a low rate of 20 ~ 250kbps
· Zig-Bee realizes quick response with the feature of short time delay
2. Bluetooth
Bluetooth can realize point-to-point and point-to-multi-point wireless data and audio transmission within a radius of 10 meters via electromagnetic waves from 2.402GHz to 2.480GHz. Its data transmission bandwidth can reach up to 1Mbps.
Bluetooth is widely used in all kinds of data and audio devices in LAN, such as PC, laptops, printers, fax machines, digital cameras, mobile phones, high-quality headsets, etc., realizing the connection between different devices anytime and anywhere.
3. Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is able to cover a wider LAN area of up to 100 meters, whose transmission speed can reach 11Mbps (802.11b) or 54Mbps (802.11a) and up to 9.6Gbps for Wi-Fi 6.
People can enjoy a network via Wi-Fi hot-spots in crowded places, such as train stations, bus stations, shopping malls, airports, libraries, campuses, etc.
4. Ultra Wide Band (UWB)
UWB is a kind of carrier-free communication technology, using a non-sine wave narrow pulse of a nanosecond to microsecond level to transfer the data within 10 meters. UWB takes advantage of up to 1GHz bandwidth to reach the communication speed of more than hundreds of megabytes bit/s. UWB operates in a band range from 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz and a minimum operating bandwidth of 500MHz.
5. Near Field Communication (NFC)
NFC is a new short-distance wireless communication technology based on Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFID), whose operating frequency is 13.56MHz. It uses the same frequency as the widely popular non-contact smart card ISO14443, providing a convenient communication method for all consumer electronic products. NFC adopts Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK) mode with a data transmission rate of 106kbit/s and 424kbit/s.
With the features of short transmission distance, high bandwidth, and low power consumption, NFC is suitable for the application of access control, public transportation, mobile payment when compatible with contact-less smart card technology.
